The Bible in divided into two sections, the Old Teatament and the New Testament. These Testaments contain 73 books in total, making it a 'library' of books all compiled into one. The word "Bible comes from the Greek 'ta biblia' which means "The Books" (Boadt, 1984, p. 11). There are 46 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. Each Testament is divided into sections containing relevant books. The first section of the Old Testament is where you will find the PENTATEUCH which contains the Book of Exodus. There are five books in the Pentateuch with Exodus being the second. Pentateuch is the Greek term for 'five scrolls' or 'five-part book' (Crotty, 2003, P. 1) . Pentateuch is commonly refered to as "The five books of Moses" (Boadt, 1984, p.89).
